Rachael Magoola Praises Singer Ykee Benda After Re-doing Her Obangaina Song

Bugweri district woman MP Hon Rachael Magoola has come out to praise singer Ykee Benda for redoing her Obangaina song. The Mpaka records CEO redid the popular early 2000’s jam, giving it a current breather.

The song is already doing well on the charts and receiving maximum airplay on TV’s and radio stations.

Ykee Benda nailed the song from the vocals to the video, no wonder the veteran musician is praising him. Hon Magoola while appearing on the NBS After 5 program said that she was part of the project of redoing the song.

She said that she provided guidance until she felt the project was well baked and ready to be served. She then described Ykee Benda as a humble soul whom she wished all the best in the future.

“I was part of the creation of Obangaina Re-do by Ykee Benda. I kept correcting and listening to the song until I felt it was good to go, I’m so proud of him because he is a young humble man and I wish him well.” Hon Rachael Magoola said.

The song is part of Ykee Benda’s recently released album Kirabo. It’s fair to say that among all the Ugandan classic songs that have been redone over time, Ykee Benda got almost everything right.

He was able to maintain the song’s catchy lyrics adding in a few of his. He also maintained the beat that relishes the 2000s memories. Therefore it bridges both the older generation and the younger generation.
