Retired General Henry Tumukunde Launches First Ever Brail Manifesto

Retired General Henry Tumukunde Presidential candidate has made history by  launching the first ever brail manifesto for People with Disability. Tumukunde is contesting for presidency against his follow boss President Museveni.

According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics, there are 6 million people with disability in Uganda.

The manifesto indicates that the flag bear has good programmes for the person with disability if voted as president.

“The brail manifesto presents programmes that the party and political candidate has in offer for people with disability. Pwds deserve social and economic inclusion in the country development,” Henry Tumukunde explained.

He also pledged to create social disability fund and free education for persons with disabilities.

” Where as we are not discounting progress made since attaining independence, we have noted the country is not performing to the best of its potential. There is growing house hold poverty, systemic corruption, an under performing economy, poor service delivery. Tumukunde also noted that at least 21% Ugandans are not in gainful employment, “Tumukunde stressed.

In separate news earlier published by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, about 80 Percent of Kampala adolescent girls  have been sexually harassed by taxi tots, Irene Kagoya Plan Uganda Country Manager for advocacy has revealed.

Kagoya on behalf of civil society organisations therefore demands parliament to put strict clause in the proposed traffic and road safety Bill 1998 to ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted for the offence.

“We demand parliament to first track the proposed traffic and road safety bill. This ensures the safety of girls in public spaces including motorized transport vehicles. It will help realize social economic and political rights for the girls,” Kagoya said.
