Sheilah Gashumba Blasts Celebrities Who Buy Fake Followers

Socialite and NBS After 5 presenter, Sheilah Gashumba, has come out to blast celebrities who buy followers on social media to have a big following. If you probably didn’t know this, it’s true some people buy followers on social media who are actually fake and not real.

These can be termed as bots and Twitter multi-billionaire, Elon Musk, has actually cited the need to do away with them on the blue bird app. According to Sheilah, these so called celebrities will die of depression. This is because they invest a lot in these social media pages yet they are not returning finances. She also cited an example of herself and Zari who don’t invest a lot in social media. Yet they have many endorsements.

“I know of some TV presenters and some celebrities who literally bought followers on Instagram. That life can put you into depression because you end up with no endorsements yet you invested a lot. You pay photographers and other expenses. For instance I Sheilah can never do such a thing. When do you ever see the likes of Zari waking up to all that drama of chasing clout. These so-called slay queen wannabes will die of depression. Unlike us who do one tweet and the whole of Uganda talks about us,” she bragged.

In regards to companies awarding endorsements, they always find out the genuine followers. These companies have an engine where they put all ones account details. These however are big companies that are few in Uganda as narrated by Sheilah Gashumba.

For the gigs gotten by someone on social media, it’s the engagement on their pages that bags them the deals. Therefore someone with many followers but less views is usually having bots.

Sheilah also highlighted how Tanzanian Bongo flavor star, Diamond Platinumz was one of those faking views. She said that a fake person can lie but they can’t fake it forever. She further said that the Naanzaje singer is not even in the top 10 biggest African artists. Yet he used to trend on social media more than the likes of Burnaboy.

“You can fake it but not forever. @diamondplatnumz was faking the most views on social media, but right now you can’t find him in the top 10 African artistes. He hasn’t even had a show at the small O2 arena yet Burnaboy rocked the bigger arena,” she further added.

Well that is social media for you, not all the views and followers are genuine. Some are simply automated.
