“Security forces are in high gear to ensure that there is peace and safety for all Ugandans. Those who are planning to attend that illegal swearing-in, I just want to warn you that please, don’t be part because we have only one president who was elected. The rest are comical, we don’t expect any other swearing-in,” she said.
She also emphasized that to the young people saying riots are unacceptable.
“Riots are unacceptable and they won’t be allowed. I have told you that the security forces are alert. They are monitoring, they are patrolling meaning that they are on the ground to disperse any crowd,” she said.
Online media has been on fire as the swearing-in approaches. Many still insist, especially NUP supporters that they are the winners of the elections. However, the Electoral Commission announced incumbent, President Museveni as the winner with 58.2% against his counterparts. Since then there has been a lot of talk around the nation threatening to stop the swearing-in ceremony.
No wonder Minister Judith Nabakooba has come out to state that they won’t tolerate ‘unlawful acts’. She warned the youth to desist from any act that might attract the attention of security forces.
