She made this statement after different young talented artistes have risen but vanished in the thin air after two or three years in the music industry.
The former singer had her shinning in the music industry through a band group of legendaries known as Afrigo Band. It has been in existence for more than 40 years.
According to Rachel Magoola, the reason why Afrigo Band has kept the same artistes for a long time is because of the strong management they have.
She said in Afrigo Band, sometimes they don’t even know the money they are working for on certain events. And that has helped them to focus on one thing singing forgetting that they do it for money.
But artistes of these days don’t care about singing but rather care about money. This is something that has led then astray. They feel management is not important because they take part of their money.
The legislator told young artistes that management can help them save money for their future. Because so many artistes have suffered with a life style in their old age just because they couldn’t save when it was needed.
“I advice artists to stop self-management. This is because they are undervaluing their worth, and giving little time to their growth. Self-management can make them hand-to-mouth earners. Unfortunately no one knows this,” Rachel Magoola said.
