The singer went to the bar with her friends to have a good time. They however stopped them at the entrance and barred from entering.
Reason was that they didn’t have the 25,000 shillings entry fee and Winnie Nwagi thought her celebrity status would earn her a free entrance together with her friends. They however told the bouncers to kick them out if they didn’t pay.
A furious Nwagi came out later in a video and said that Ugandans should start respecting their artistes.
Now appearing in a local TV interview, the Malaika singer said that she’s never seen the likes of Wizkid pay in bars. The same respect should start being accorded to Ugandan singers because they are stars.
“I think Ugandans should start respecting their artistes. For instance I have never seen let’s say Wizkid go to a meet and party with his crew and then he’s ordered to first pay. We need to be respected since we are superstars. I think for my case, people just love provoking me and chasing me unreasonably,” the singer said.
She also addressed her recent outburst towards a fan who she promised to thump up. Nwagi said that this fella came out of the audience and stood below the stage. He then started to record her underneath.
However, ever since she learnt that fans have the habit of recording such dirty videos, she stopped wearing short skirts and dresses to stage.
