Ugandan Entertainment Industry Is So Boring – Kenyan Comedian Eric Omondi

Famous Kenyan comedian, Eric Omondi, has branded the Ugandan music industry as boring to the outside world. The comedian who was in the country for Patrick Salvado’s Africa Laughs show said that the industry is only good internally.

However, when it comes to the outside world, Ugandan musicians are as silent as a grave.

Omondi further said that Uganda last had a hit song many years ago in Valu Valu. Since then, there is no Ugandan music that penetrates beyond the borders.

He however said that there are a number of talented artists in the country such as Winnie Nwagi and Spice Diana. They however need to up their game to make their presence felt beyond Uganda.

“I want to assure you that there is no competition coming out from Uganda beyond the borders. The competition is only internal. You last had a hit song in Valu Valu many years ago. There are however many number of talented musicians such as Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi and my friend Eddy Kenzo but no hits outside your borders,” said Omondi.

The comedian for over a year has been clashing with musicians in Kenya who he described as dead silent. A number of them such as Khaligraph Jones, Sauti Sol’s Bien have ended up clashing with him.

Omondi in his interview also labeled Bien as practicing witchcraft. This is despite the Sauti Sol member doing the right things, he doesn’t want others to copy him and do the same.

Therefore this selfishness and jealousy is the same as witchcraft.

The controversial comedian also advised Ugandan comedian MC Mariachi to learn a bit of English. This will help him to cross borders since he’s immensely talented.
