Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) enforcement team and Uganda Police have launched an investigation into the case of human trafficking after six people were found packed in biscuit boxes loaded in the truck.

The accused who said to have come from other African countries have been trafficked in to the pearl of Africa through Kenya border Busia.
All the six suspects have been arrested and brought to Kampala for serious interrogation. However, URA is working hand in hand with security agencies and police to be able to know the intention of the accused.
Newslex Point contacted the commissioner Customs, Mr Kateshumbwa Collins and he confirmed the incident saying it happened on Friday early morning.
We stopped the six people who were stashed in boxes on Friday very early in the morning at around 4am at the border of Busia using our drive through inspection scanners,’he said.
The two trucks from Kenya have been impounded and drivers have also been detained, until investigation completed.
