Victoria University To Set To Acquire A Charter

Victoria university one of the leading private university owned by city tycoon Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is set to acquire a charter. Vice chancellor Dr Krishna Dharma says management applied and went through all the procedures successfully.

“We submitted our application for a charter and all the required procedures met. We are waiting for official communication from Uganda national council for higher education before end of the year,” Dr. Sharma said.

The charter will enable the university management to award various masters and PhDs independently.

Rajiv Ruparelia the group Director thanked government for enabling environment that has facilitated management to do business.

Dr Ham Mulira advised management to be innovative and teaching practical and demand driven courses.

He also advised youth at universities yo enroll for ICT courses alongside their professional career courses to fit in the ever changing world of work.

In a bid to remain relevant, Victoria university recently signed memorandum if understanding with logistics association to teach cutting edge logistics courses for the professionals.

This will enhance capacity for professionals to provide quality service to the logistics and transport sector.
