Viewers have been divided since Saturday on the journalism standards of NTV. Social media has been awash with comments since NTV apparently refused to air anything to do with Muhoozi’s birthday.
Most television stations concentrated on the first son’s birthday the whole day but NTV aired nothing about that which caused a lot of questions. For most people, this was alright, especially the NUP fans.
However, the fact that NTV aired some parts of the function raised eyebrows. Bobi Wine hosted the Muslim community for Futari yesterday evening.
This is where speculations started, some people are saying NTV is being partisan neglecting all journalism ethics. On the other hand, NBS aired both functions and those who want to differ said NTV should pick a leaf from this kind of journalism.
Some people decided to attack the workers of NTV challenging them to post any picture from Muhoozi’s birthday party.
“@CultonScovia this is what we call Journalism. I challenge you to post Muhoozi’s pictures of yesterday’s function. To you, Journalism is all about posting about @HEBobiwine. So sad,” a one Akugizibwe tweeted.
Meanwhile, some people say like any other organization, NTV made a choice and they ought to respect it.
On top of this, other viewers said there was nothing to air about Muhoozi’s birthday. NTV has however chosen to give a cold shoulder to all this noise.
