The Ugandan social entrepreneur, motivational speaker, economic rights activist and digital influencer Frank Gashumba claimed that most artistes in Uganda’s entertainment industry don’t have the talent, but they are just looking for survival.
Majority of Ugandan singers make fake music purposely to earn quick money, but they actually don’t mind about quality.
“We don’t have talented musicians here in Uganda, they are only doing it for money and survival, even comedians are fake, “Frank Gashumba said whilst talking about the newly introduced rules and regulations to govern the art industry.
When covid-19 emerged in the country, many artistes were forcefully pushed to the wall to an extent of waiting for government Posho and beans. Many who were not used to saving cried out to their fellow musicians for help.
Others like Willy Mukabya resorted to riding boda boda as it was the only way out for their survival.
