Police Intercepted Motor Vehicle, Recovered SAR Rifle Gun, Stolen Phones

This morning at around 1:14am, the territorial Police at Katwe Police Division and 999 patrollers intercepted a motor vehicle at Kitebi Star, rescuing Victoria Nakitende, who had been robbed and tied with a rope by armed thugs.

The officers recovered Exhibits a SAR rifle with five rounds of ammunition, ropes, suspected stolen phones, motorcycle keys and breaking implements.

The suspects were using motor vehicle registration number UAR 179L Toyota Celica. The suspects were identified as Isaac Massa, Senate George William and Ashraf Mubiru.

They are currently detained at Katwe Police Station.

The cops are investigating allegations of being in possession of suspected stolen items, kidnap and disobedience of lawful orders since they were intercepted during curfew time.

Officers in UPF yesterday also watched a video clip which circulated on social media where some people were claiming that one of their officers stole a mobile phone, but it was later confirmed that it was a  Police epaulette/ flap ( rank holder) not a mobile phone as alleged by some people in the social media.

Meanwhile.the scientific graduation ceremony of officers in Police Senior Command and staff course intake 003 and 004 at Senior command and Staff College Bwebajjaa is happening right now.

Intake 003 take home a Masters degree in Peace, Governance and Security awarded by the United Nations University for Peace.
