According to her, government officials should learn how to mind about their villages because they are paid handsomely.
She said this because some people were suggesting that money should be put together to build a house in Oulanyah’s village.
“Oulanyah died minus building a house in the village, we build. Governer died minus building a house in Kampala, we build.
Nedda namwe muswaleko. These people had the best paying jobs in the country.”
Apparently, the fallen speaker had not completed the house he was building in the village. Some MPs were suggesting that they could contribute to this cause.
When the late governor, Mutebile passed on, the issue about him not having his own house caused alarm to too many. To the extent that they wondered where he was putting his salary.
The question is, why do government officials not build houses in their villages. This should probably be a lesson to others because at the end of the day, their villages are the burial grounds.
Meanwhile, Nambooze also wondered why a supplementary budget was needed to carry out the burial of the fallen speaker.
“It surprises me that the demise of our Speaker called for a supplementary budget. A supplementary budget is passed in scenarios of unforeseen situations.”
