Museveni has responded to those accusing him of grooming his son to take over power after him. He says he has no reason to do that because people have to choose and vote the leader they want.
“They are not serious. Why should I groom my son? The people of Uganda are there and will select whom they want.”
Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is the commander of Land Forces in the UPDF. He is in charge of a project known as the Muhoozi Project.
This project has caused a lot of controversy among people saying it’s a strategy to popularize Muhoozi. However, according to Muhoozi, this project doesn’t exist at all as Sejusa suggested in 2013.
“It doesn’t exist. It is non-existent. I don’t have any ambition to be president. I am very happy in the military and that is where I intend to be.”
Up until now, NRM has not yet presented the person who will replace Museveni. No wonder all these anticipations are being made because people are probably looking for answers.
Meanwhile, as the president was speaking to France 24, he went ahead to accuse Bobi Wine of being funded by foreign institutions.
According to him, this is why he failed in the previously concluded elections.
“Originally they started off as an internal group because of our internal issues but then they get recruited by external actors and then that’s how his (Bobi Wine) movement failed. That’s how he was defeated. He was defeated in spite of cheating,”
On top of this, Museveni said he is not in anyway afraid of Bobi Wine.
