Woman Who Worked As Housemaid In Saudi Arabia Says Online Lover Conned All Her Savings: ‘’I Came Back With Nothing’’

When a Kenyan woman Wanjiru Loise left her home country some years ago to work as a housemaid in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, her main goal was to make as much money as possible to support her kids.

She made that decision simply because she had ended her marriage to her abusive husband and she left two of her young children with her siblings. Her determination was to ensure that the children have a better life.

According to her interview on Metha ya Kagoni YouTube channel, the young lady said after landing in Saudi Arabia, she fell into the hands of a heartless elderly boss who mistreated her and even withheld her money.

’I stayed in that home for a couple of months but fortunately, I managed to get another employer from where i began earning and saving money’’

The woman said during that time someone sent her a message on Facebook claiming that he had loved and admired her for a long time.

The man’s confession of his much love for her was a beautiful love song to her ears since she had left the abusive marriage with her Kenyan husband.

I thought that God had remembered me because I always wanted love. We started by being friends and from there he started telling me he loves me,” she said.

She, therefore, accepted him in her life and in the shortest time, she was madly in love with this online lover whom she had never seen physically.

The online stranger took advantage of Wanjiru’s love and trust for him and began asking for money; he started by asking small money for internet bundles and fare.

After that he shared a ‘Business Idea’ with Wanjiru and asked her to finance it claiming they would get huge profits especially when she returns home.

Without asking a question, the mother of two sent KSh 20,000 to the online stranger; she also sent him more money for food and transport whenever he was at the business site.

She later learnt that she was conned after the online lover blocked her on Facebook when she started asking how the business was moving.

I do not even know what was wrong with me, I was not sending any money for my children,” she recalled.

Second man also went with KSh 40k (over Ugx1.4M)

Whilst nursing a broken heart, another online stranger also sent her a message on her Messenger and as they started getting to know each other, he also asked for money to setup a business.

She sent him KSh40,000 hoping that once she gets home, she will find the business successful.

Unfortunately, the second man also took off after receiving the money from Wanjiru. She could not educate her children as she had planned.

Wanjiru warned women working in Saudi Arabia to be careful and not to trust anybody online to avoid making the same mistakes she made.
