10 Police Officers Injured After Being Attacked By Over 300 Heavily Armed Robbers

10 police officers are nursing wounds in Meru County Kenya after they were attacked by a group of over 300 heavily armed robbers on Friday, 14th November, during morning hours.

The group of bandits launched an ambush at General Services Unit (GSU) officers attached to Mariara Police Station and opened fire. Many believe this is a revenge attack.

Some Police officers at Astu Bullu interceded and tried to save their colleagues. Unfortunately, the bandits attacked and wounded them too.

According to a report from Ndumuru Police Station, 6 officers from Astu Bullu and 4 GSU members sustained serious injuries.

The  heavily armed thugs shot the officer in different parts of the bodies. These include abdomen, hands, thighs, arms and waist.

Consequently, all the ten officers were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The assailants were reported to have come from Turkana County. Police have since tightened security in the area and operations are under way to hunt down the criminals.
