Investigators caught a Chief Inspector of police together with three of his colleagues for extorting a Shs2 million bribe.

According to directorate of Criminal Investigation department (CID), the four criminals including Chief Inspector of police, Mr Omondi Kennedy, Otieno Stanilus, Omengi Boniface and Obwaka Eddie have been pretending to be immigration officers.
The four suspects had seized many other documents including a passport to fulfill their mission,’’said police.

The victim said that the officers had asked for Shs1o million bribe initially and they were rushing to collect a deposit of Shs2 million, so they were arrested by detectives in the process.
Two of their colleagues were able to escape. One pistol and bullets were recovered.
