According to the police commander of North Imenti Sub-County Mboloi Robinson, the police officer collapsed inside Equity Bank’s toilet at around noon.
‘The cop was on duty by the time he suddenly lost his life at the bank. The cause of his death is however not yet established and the deceased’s body was taken to Meru Level 5 Hospital,’Mboloi said.
One of his workmates revealed that the deceased was not feeling well in the morning hours and he vomited before he died.
Staff members were on panic after Meru County Covid-19 surveillance team cordoned off the banking hall and picked up the body while wearing full personal preventive equipments.
The police officer’s body was collected two hours later as a precautionary measure since his death was not yet established.
Meru County Public Health Director Inanga John said that due to covid-19 pandemic, people cannot just get in contact with a dead body any howly and that’s why the bank had to give them a call to pick up the body.
