Ever heard of the group of islands called “The World” in Dubai, it’s a man-made archipelago of small islands made to resemble the map of the planet.[9] Part of that is called The Heart of Europe, and Richard Branson fittingly owns the island representing Great Britain.

Soon,[3] the Heart of Europe will get a floating home, named the “Floating Seahorse.” The best part? Part of it is underwater. It will be the first of many, and it looks absolutely stunning.[8]
The $2.8 million house took over 5,000 hours of research and 13,000 hours of design.[2] The first models went on sale last year before anything was actually completed,[4] and design firm Kleindienst Group says they sold 60 in 2015.
The underwater portion consists of a master bedroom and bathroom and will make up about 270 square feet of the interior.[9] Right outside the walls is a 500-square-foot coral garden, [12]where residents will be able to see actual seahorses and plenty of other marine life float through the Arabian Gulf.
Above the surface,[2] the luxury shines in the sun. Residents will stretch out on the giant floating bed or gaze out on the observation deck. They also will have a stepladder for safe entry and exit,[11] but nothing’s stopping you from simply diving in.

The company’s goal is to create a new standard for living lavishly. [5]They also hope to help restore the endangered seahorse population in the area.[9] “We will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats, which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.” Kleindienst said during an unveiling event last year.[1]
This design didn’t come easily. [10]Over 200 designers, engineers and architects from all over the world have teamed up to make this dream home a reality.
The firm anticipates launching the first Floating Seahorse next week and finishing its first phase of rollouts by October.[7] They’ll begin to expand outside The Heart of Europe by 2017 and 2018. Next stop? St. Petersburg (the fake one, of course).[2]
