Felix Kulayigye Likens The Current Generation To Wizards

The UPDF spokesperson, Brigadier Felix Kulayigye, has hit out at the current generation of Ugandans that claim to be so modernized.

A tweet from the official account of the spokesperson of the Defence Forces, said that if modernity is equivalent to wizardry, then he would rather remain backward read.

This is because, in a society where there are norms, no one wishes another person to die. It’s therefore such a shame that some people are going to great lengths to declare the living dead.

“If modernity is equivalent to wizardly, then I would rather remain backward. In a society with norms, NO one wishes another dead!!! But some people are going to a great length to declare the living, dead! What a shame!!!!!” read the tweet.

Elly Tumwine’s alleged death announcement

This followed reports on social media stating that the former security minister, Gen. Elly Tumwine has passed away. This was despite no confirmation from either the family or the UPDF. In fact, speculation is still mounting over his health.

However, his family came out to provide an update dispelling these rumors as false. It however reported that Tumwine was flown to Kenya in a very critical condition.

Reports further indicate that the former commander of the NRA is battling cancer. Speculation continues to mount over his health state. A number of government officials and from the UPDF have come out to criticize social media users for always peddling falsehoods.

Tumwine is not the only high-ranking government official that has been rumored dead. The likes of President Museveni among others have all at some point been declared dead by social media users.
