Gashumba said that those mocking him for not landing a ministerial job should do it slowly. This is because he might have the last laugh.
The controversial businessman pointed out that there are still two fatty vacant places in the Civil Service. These are all positions appointed by the President. These are the IGP and Governor, BOU jobs.
Martin Okoth Ochola saw his tenure as Police IGP run out. It’s currently held by Maj Gen Sabiiti Katsigazi on an interim basis. Besides, the Bank of Uganda hasn’t had a governor since the death of Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile in 2022.
Gashumba, therefore, fancies these jobs. However, he also added that the President has reasons why he appoints the people he does. And maybe for his case, he doesn’t fit in.
“Those saying I wasn’t appointed for any ministerial position, remember we still have two vacant positions: Governor Bank of Uganda and IGP. I could be appointed to those. That aside, the President has reasons why he appoints people,” said Frank Gashumba.
Meanwhile he also talked about NUP’s deputy president, Hon Mathias Mpuuga’s press conference yesterday. According to Gashumba, the MP did it at a wrong time.
This is because people had started to slowly move past it. And now since wounds have been reopened, NUP poses a risk of losing two of the biggest institutions in Ugandan politics, Buganda and the Catholic Church.
