I’m Uganda’s Number One – Ykee Benda

Musician Wycliffe Tugume aka Ykee Benda has come out to name himself as Uganda’s number-one singer. This was during a recent performance at Jahazi Pier during Galaxy FM’S Zzina Festival.

The Mpaka Records boss said that things of musicians ranking themselves are outdated. If this trend is to go on, then he also thinks that he’s number one.

This follows local rapper Gravity Omutujju’s recent ranking of the top 5 musicians where he put himself in number 4.

Ykee Benda who wasn’t included in even Gravity’s extended list of the top 10 said that it’s just a personal opinion.

“Musicians should stop the habit of ranking themselves because we are all superstars and number one. However, if this habit goes on, then I’m also number one. That was Gravity’s personal opinion,” said Ykee Benda.

The idea of musicians ranking themselves is seemingly one that can’t stop. Each of them feels the urge to put themselves above others and this is usually done by the insecure ones.

It however stems from fans who usually rank their favorite musicians
