Annet Kiberu Mpuga a Ugandan teacher has been appointed president of International Literacy Association.
She will serve for the next two years at the 11th Pan African conference on literacy: abridge to equity in Kampala.
Mpuga has been the Chairperson of Reading Association of Uganda.
It was founded in 1998 and the Association is dedicated to turning education into reading for all.
The International Literacy Association promotes reading culture for life long reading as a prerequisite for both individual and National development.
It provides forum for addressing the different impediments not only to successful acquisition of literacy and it’s use but also the professional practices.
