Well of course there are some cultural activities that need to be done away with and they are indeed not missed at all. For example, female genital mutilation to apparently keep girls morally upright was just so gross and still is.
However, today, let’s look into some of the cultural activities that kept marriages but have been done away with lately. To start with, the way functions are made that is traditional marriages and church marriages has totally changed.
Traditional marriage was initially a family ceremony but not anymore. Now it’s a national issue which means everyone can be involved in your marriage.
People have put their marriages in the public eye that privacy doesn’t count anymore.
Our cultures have always taught us to keep private what goes on in our homes. Unfortunately, civilization makes us thinks it’s okay for people to even share when they are going to go bed together.
Families are being built on social media while children are being groomed by the television because parents have no time to spare.
Marriage has always been and still is a sacred thing and how you view it determines how you actually handle it. Not everything that was done in the past should be replicated but we can choose to uphold the values that made marriage beautiful in the olden days.
People may need to go back to the basics, maybe then we shall have more marriages blossoming in our generation.
