Why Jay Z Chose To Expand His Music Empire In Uganda And Nigeria

The black American artist, Jay Z disclosed why he ignored Kenya including other African Nations and decided to opt for Uganda and Nigeria as he’s looking forward to invest and roll out his music platform.

Jay Z, 48, is one of the richest musicians in the United States of America currently with the net worth of $900 million according to the American business magazine, Forbes.

The American rapper is looking forward to expand his Tidal Music business whereby Uganda’s capital, Kampala will be the 2nd Africa branch.

Nigeria and Uganda were selected as launch pads simply because of the higher proportion of young people.

About 78 percent of Uganda’s population is under the age of 30, similar to Nigeria which also has about 83 percent, therefore, making them absolute target market for Tidal music services.

Tidal music company which was officially launched a few days ago in Kampala is a US based music streaming service Co-founded by the American artist, Jay Z.

Tidal music made a partnership deal with MTN Uganda which will quickly give it access to it’s subscribers which are now over 10 million.
