The 5 siblings whose mother passed away in 2019, mentioned that their arrogant landlord decided to remove off the roof after their dad failed to pay rent arrears for 3 months from February to April.
These children told Nairobi news how their dad got stranded upcountry since the Kenyan government announced a lockdown where all movements in and out of Nairobi were ceased.
One of the children, who is a candidate of KCSE exam explained that the landlord ordered them to move out of his house, but they don’t have anywhere to go.
“We stay with our father, my mother died last year. At the moment, my father got locked out of the city due to the Nairobi lockdown. The owner of the house ordered us to move out by Saturday but we don’t have anywhere else to go. After removing the roof, we tried to explain to him but he ignored us,” One of the siblings said.
However, one of good-hearted neighbours who has been helping to take care of these children said she reported the issue to the police and promised to charge the landlord very soon.
