Lionel Messi Has Been Confirmed To Move To PSG

Argentine football superstar and former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has been confirmed to move to French Ligue 1 Giants PSG.

The move was confirmed by renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano and credible news sources such as Goal yesterday. The French club also took to it’s social media handles to confirm the move.

Messi was in Paris yesterday and PSG will unveil him today as the new superstar of the club.

PSG has already been busy in the market signing the likes of Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum.

Messi will wear the number 30 shirt after turning down his 10 famous jersey won at Barcelona.

The shirt had been offered to him by his friend Brazilian superstar Neymar who was one of the reasons the Argentine maestro joined the French club.

Messi spent 21 years with the Catalan club Barcelona and it shocked him last week when the club announced that it was not possible for him to continue playing at the Camp Nou.

Messi had accepted to take a 50% pay cut on his monstrous big money contract. However due to the La Liga and Financial Fairplay rules, Messi’s contract could still not meet the required bar.

A teary Messi bid farewell to his boyhood club in a ceremony attended by ex-team mates and current Barca players.

Messi however said that the move was not a goodbye but a see you later.

He promised to come back to the city at one time probably when his footballing career is over.

The Argentine wizard and six time Balon d’or winner moves to PSG on a free transfer after the expiry of his Barca contract.

“Lionel Messi joins PSG… HERE WE GO! Total agreement completed on a two-years contract. Option to extend until June 2024. Salary around €35m net per season, add ons included. Messi has definitely accepted PSG contract proposal and will be in Paris in the next hours.” Fabrizio Romano tweeted.
