The tale of this ‘lost son’ was on Friday afternoon captured by Citizen Digital, who went to pay him a visit at his residential home.
Lawrence confirmed that he had traveled all the way to Tanzania looking for new opportunities (greener pastures). Whilst there, his job was to harvest sand.
‘I have all along been thinking about my family, but I was ashamed because of how I left them. I got many challenges in trying to get money to travel back home, until someone freely offered me some money. I am now contented that am finally home and I don’t intend to get back to Tanzania, ‘he talked to Citizen Digital.
The father of nine, 5 girls and 4 boys said he was afraid to return home because he had no money to take to his family.
I even got a volunteer that freely offered me transport back home, ‘he noted.
For nearly four decades he has spent in Tanzania, the elderly man said he never at any one moment communicated to his family back in Kenya claiming he never possessed a cell phone in his whole life.
Of a surprise, he noted that he was unable to recall the road that takes him to his rural home, but asked for directions which helped him reach his Village.
Upon his arrival, the elderly father heard sad news that two of his children passed away a year after his departure.
However, his wife Ms Nyathira Mary said she was happy for her husband’s come back.
