One of the prosecutors by the names of Nakayiza Justin told High Court that a 42-year-old, Ssemuwemb Joseph a local resident of Makulubita Sub-County in Kiyanda village, while at his place between the month of March and July the year 2015 defiled 3 girls aged nine, ten and twelve who were left under his care.

Being that these children were too young in age, Ssemuwemba took advantage of them in order to inflict great pain and harm to their precious lives.

His grandchildren clearly pinned him!

Justice Anna Mugyenyi depended upon the well cooperated evidence based prosecution, victim evidence to pass sentence and medical reports. The victims surely pinned Ssemuwemba who had refused the case before, claiming that he was being framed.

You committed a dangerous act against these young innocent girls. They had a future to catch up with, but you obviously ruined it. You a grandfather to these young girls who’s expected to have guarded them from acts that would damage their future,’’Justice Mugyenyi told the offender as the Court proceedings were translated  for him from English language to Luganda.

The convict knew much about the tender age of his grandchildren and was also aware about his HIV/AIDS status. Unfortunately, the girls were infected with HIV/AIDS and now on ARVs. Ssemuwemba deserves maximum punishment to act as an example to other people who might think of doing the same, ‘’Nakayiza told court.
