In an exclusive interview with a local media house in Ghana, Azaare recalled how he was in his usual line of duty. He then received a call from nurses in the children’s ward to collect the remains of the 9-year-old boy.
Azaare has over 20 years of experience working as a mortuary attendant. He revealed that he went to the bed where the boy’s body was lying, wrapped the body, and placed it on the mortuary trolley and headed back to the mortuary.
But while approaching the morgue, the little boy coughed and sneezed almost at the same time, he said.
”When he sneezed and coughed, I immediately stopped and carried him gently onto my shoulder. And took him back to the ward,” Azaare told sources.
He disclosed that the nurses started asking him why he was returning to the children’s ward with the boy’s body. He went straight to the bed and laid him there.
”I told them the boy was not dead. They were surprised,” He said.
He further added that the nurses immediately attended to the boy subsequently discharged him after a full recovery.
