MTN Uganda Moves to Strengthen Business With Chinese Community

MTN Uganda, in a bid to strengthen relationships and create advocacy among business communitiesin Uganda, has today hosted the Chinese community to a Business breakfast event at the Kampala Serena Hotel.[2]

Attended by over 200 delegates including, H.E Zhao Yhali, the ambassador of China to Uganda, the event presented an exciting opportunity for various businesses to interact, and discuss possible opportunities for the future. MTN Uganda ’s Chief Executive Officer Brian Gouldie hailed the strategic partnership between MTN and Chinese firms, that has led to development and advancement of technology and new propositions for businesses in Uganda.[1]

Mtn Uganda is very proud of the relationship that has been cultivated over the years.

The company was also pleased to share breakfast today as we look back and revel in the successes we’ve achieved together,” he said.“As we interact today, MTN Uganda has taken a milestone in offering business owners a full suite of cutting edge business solutions to meet all their needs in terms of accessibility, infrastructure, converged communications, security and software,” he added.

 This month, Mr. Gouldie said, MTN Business took further steps to consolidate its effort to supporting and enabling businesses in Uganda, announcing business bundles, designed to help offer more value and control for business owners, while enabling them manage their communication costs with greater efficiency.[3]

“We are always looking for partnership opportunities with manufacturers, and I would like to particularly thank Huawei for being a good business partner for so many years,” the CEO concluded. In his remarks, H.E Zhao Yhali applauded MTN Uganda for the excellent service offered to the Chinese business community especially the mobile money that has eased mobile banking.[5]

“MTN services like Mobile Money makes it easy for the Chinese businessmen to pay laborers without having to use cash,” he said adding that the Chinese business community is growing very fast because of such partnerships as those. He pledged support for more MTN programs and functions such as these and that he would continue to recommend MTN to the Chinese community in Uganda. Also in attendance were other partners of MTN including Huawei, Hello food, Kaymu, Jumia among others who were showcasing their new products.[4]

Today’s breakfast is just one in a series of engagements that have been hosted by MTN for the Chinese Community.[6]
