Thomas Tayebwa Disregards Allegations That He Aided The Escape Of Among’s Bodyguard

Credible reports and intelligence officers of the speaker, Anita Among, have revealed that her junior, Thomas Tayebwa, had a direct role in the escape of her ADC ASP Aggrey Aruho.

Aruho left the country for the US after affiliating himself to an entourage led by the Deputy Speaker who had departed for September 2-5 34th UNAA convention.

Among’s intelligence backed these allegations by linking Mr. Louis Bakyenga, Tayebwa’s Secretary to top-notch parliamentary officials. These apparently cleared the US Visa application for Among’s ADC Aruho.

Tayebwa yesterday addressed the public on the matter during plenary. He reassured that he and the speaker are on good terms for as far as he can tell.

He said that contrary to the media, he is in the clear with his superior and revealed he has no hand in the exit of her ADC ASP Aggrey Aruho.

“I have known the speaker since 2005 in FDC. Hon. Mwijukye is a best man to that relationship. The Speaker has given me all the necessary support as a Deputy Speaker. We are so close and she treats me as a brother,” Tayebwa explained to the house. Adding, “We have met the security chiefs to see how to beef up the speaker’s security following the death threats.”

Some parliament police sources familiar with the matter revealed some information but preferred anonymity. They explain that DPC Agaba has already received the weapons and uniforms of the deserted officer. It is said that Aruho left to settle with his family in the US.

However, state house sources say the president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa met the two custodians of the legislature to mitigate their alleged differences.
