Uganda Airlines Soars To New Heights With Record Bookings For Inaugural London Flights

Uganda Airlines is on the brink of a historic milestone as it gears up for its first direct flights to Europe next month. The excitement surrounding this development has already translated into remarkable success.

The national carrier has received an overwhelming response, with more than 500 bookings secured for its upcoming London Gatwick route set to commence on May 18.

The route will operate four times a week between Entebbe International Airport and London Gatwick, with bookings stretching well into 2026.

CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki credits part of this success to recent negative publicity surrounding the route announcement. Despite unverified reports casting doubt on the clearance for Uganda Airlines’ Gatwick flights, the airline has seen a surge in bookings driven by curiosity and a desire to debunk false claims.

Uganda Airlines’ commitment to excellence

The majority of bookings are for return flights from London to Entebbe, with a significant number of passengers opting for credit card transactions that have already been processed.

As Uganda Airlines embarks on long-haul operations with the launch of the London route, Bamuturaki emphasizes the need for continuous improvement to ensure its success.

Amidst challenges and uncertainties, Bamuturaki remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of the London-Gatwick route, viewing it as a catalyst for Uganda Airlines’ growth and sustainability on the global aviation stage.

By embracing change and innovation, the airline aims to strengthen its position and make a lasting impact in the competitive aviation industry.
