Charity says that she got to meet some guy via social media and they started dating. This guy promised to get her a job in Dubai when her other work in Saudi Arabia got done.
They arranged to meet up and the guy told the Ugandan lady to meet him in Dubai. When they met, they cohabited for a while as the guy looked for a job for Charity.
Indeed, he got her the job and she went for the medical. She was however denied the offer after being told that she was HIV positive. In disbelief, she couldn’t believe it as she got shell-shocked and had to call her mother for solace and comfort.
“Mama, I’m in total disbelief now. I got this guy while in Saudi and he told me to meet him in Dubai. And that he will get me a job. From the airport in Saudi, I went to Dubai and he picked me up. We started living together as he searched for a job. Mama I was in love with him as you know and we started off. Mama I got the job but they told me that I can’t work because I’m sick. They took me for a medical and found that I have HIV. Mama your Charity has HIV. What am I going to do, please tell me something Mama?” A tearful Charity said through the voice note.
A number of Ugandans took to this message to reveal that the spread is on the rise, especially in the UAE. Reportedly, this is highly caused by those who go there on visitor visas.
These refuse to spend on medical checkups since they won’t be spending a lot of time in the country.
Some even went ahead to say that the skyrocketing spread of STDs is one of the reasons the UAE recently induced travel bans on a number of African countries Uganda inclusive.
