Ugandan Man Abandons His Kenyan Wife, 3 Kids On The Streets

A Kenyan woman identified as Nafula Maureen stranded on the streets in Uganda calls upon well-wishers to help her return home after her Uganda husband abandoned her and three children more than a year ago.

Nafula revealed that her husband left in the morning to go to work as usual, but never returned. She has since never heard from him till today.

Speaking to the Ugandan journalist who serves as Luganda news anchor at NTV Uganda, Farida Nakazibwe, the Kenyan woman narrated how the landlord threw them out with her children after failing to pay her rent arrears for 5 months.

One fateful day, the father to Maureen’s children left home for work but never returned. He left her and their three children stranded with no communication,” narrated Nakazibwe.

As days, weeks and months passed by, Maureen, who had no job nor family close by, was thrown out of their rented room. She wasmforced to live on streets,” said the journalist.

From home to be being homeless;

After failing to get help from anyone, Nafula decided to seek refuge in the streets of Uganda’s capital Kampala. She has since been living on the streets with her three kids for the past one year.

The mother of three is used to the street life and her kids according to Nakazibwe. She moved day and night searching for food and shelter.

The NTV Uganda news anchor appeals to anyone who might be knowing  Nafula Maureen’s family back home in Kenya to assist them return home. She is trying her level best to find her a better place to stay while still in Uganda.

Fortunately, many people responded to the appeal as they offered to help the Kenyan woman and her children with food and accommodation. Others offered to get her work which would help her look after her kids.

Farida can I take her and the children? I would want to give her a home and all she will do is to farm food for her children. I will also cater to her other necessities,” Mukyala Mulangira said.
