Between the year 1990 and 2000, Uganda Airlines ran out of finances due to several circumstances that led to it’s collapse because it was unable to pay debts and it finally closed in 2001.
During the handing over of the Air Operation license to the company by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the finance minister, Matia Kashaija said that Uganda Airlines should control the business effectively.
This is real business and we don’t want to see it collapsing like before because of lack of finances, ‘said Minister.
An Airline business is a company that provides scheduled air transport services for passengers Nationally, Regionally and world wide.
This is a revived Uganda Airlines which does not need to be run anyhowly, it should be managed professionally and effectively as a business,’he said.
Last week on Thursday, the government approved Shs445 billion to Uganda Airlines to be able to pay for the remaining two Bombadier planes.
