According to the self-styled King Kong, the reason was that he asked for the same pay as the Nigerian. The organizers refused to give it to him thus pulling out of the gig.
“I recently refused to perfom at a certain show with a Nigerian Artiste as a headliner simply because they refused to give me the same amount of money they gave the Nigerian,” said Fik Fameica.
It should be recalled that local musicians have always complained about the enormous fees given to foreign artistes. Yet for their case, they are paid peanuts. This is something that is yet to change.
Fik nonetheless had his own concert recently at Hotel Africana that massively sold out.
Meanwhile, the singer also addressed the Gravity Omutujju fracas that has been ongoing for some time. Gravity has faced heavy backlash for his disrespectful remarks towards Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Dr Jose Chameleone. According to Fik Fameica, these artistes should be respected because they are legends.
“We should respect the three musicians, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Chameleone simply because they are great artistes and legends,” added Fik Fameica.
The Kutama singer also talked about his recently-released King Kong album which is currently doing so well.
They asked him why he came up with the album’s name King Kong and he said “I’m strong, I’m a King, I’m black. I believe I’m relatable to a King Kong.”
