Man Killed In Fight Over Widow In Western Uganda

Police In Uganda have launched investigations in a murder case whereby a 38 year old man identified as Rweitaemazi James was murdered in a row over a widow in Rukungiri District, Western part of Uganda.

Rweitaemazi, a local of Nyakitabire village, Ruhinda Sub-County was allegedly murdered on Saturday night after he visited a woman he was dating and accidentally found another man with her.

According to the District Police Commander, Mr Nanoka Moses, the lady whose husband died last year was in love with two men who accidentally found each other inside her house and begun fighting each other.

This widow was dating two different men from the same village but didn’t know each other. On Saturday night when one was taking a nap inside this lady’s house, the 2^nd man also visited. They begun to quarrel which resulted into a serious fight,’Mr Nanoka told journalists on Sunday.

The District Police Commander said the 40 year old man identified as Owakubariho Willian beat Rweitaemazi James and burnt him to death using an old mosquito net. The killer and his colleague Consolant Owamugisha were apprehended and put behind bars, as investigations into the incidence ongoing.

The area chairman Mr Tindarwesire Silvester said residents have on several occasions been seeing different men coming in and out of her house ever since her husband passed away.
