The comedian did the advert so well and it’s so enticing for anyone looking to visit the rainbow nation. It’s already had several people on the platform talking about it and appreciating the people behind it.
And according to Sheilah, the Tourism industry has continuously used the wrong strategies to market the country.
Apparently, she’s tried many times to share better ideas with them but she’s failed. She wondered whether everyone outside Uganda knows that the East African country is the Pearl of Africa as it’s said or not.
Additionally, the former NBS TV presenter said that she looks at the adverts done by the Ministry and shakes her head in disbelief.
Furthermore, she wondered where the money which is said to be huge that is allocated to the ministry goes. This is because she’s yet to see any enticing campaign advert from the ministry.
“One thing I know is The Ministry of Tourism in Uganda is using the wrong marketing strategies to promote Uganda for some time now. I have genuinely wanted to share a couple of ideas with them but in vain. They say Uganda is the Pearl of Africa but does the rest of the world know that?”
“I look at campaigns they do sometimes and I just shake my head in disbelief!! They say the Uganda Tourism Ministry gets a big budget but I would like to know WHERE that money goes. I have not seen one single big and successful Uganda tourism campaign coming out of the Tourism board or ministry. It’s a shame!!.”
Without a doubt, Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with lots of physical features. From mountains, wildlife, rift valley, lakes, rivers, culture, Uganda has it all.
However, countries with less to offer in terms of tourist attractions have gone ahead of the country. This can be attributed to good marketing and advertising.
Hopefully, the Ministry will pick up some advice from this and try to use it for the better of the Tourism industry.
