Uganda Airlines has postponed all her flights indefinitely to curb the spread of coronavirus. This decision by the national carrier has taken effect today until further notice.
They further said that this is in the interest of ensuring the safety of the customers, staff and the public.
Uganda Airlines advised clients holding tickets for travel to rebook so that they fly at a future date or even request for refund. They added that ticket changes are free of charge and that the national carrier is offering a waiver for change fees on all flights across its network.
The President gave new directives on Saturday and ordered all flights whether in or out of the country. This has been more effective now that the country confirmed her first case of COVID 19. The 36 year old traveled to Dubai on the 17th only to come back on 21st infected.
The president ordered for the closure of all borders and even restricted the use of public means. Definitely the suspension of flights is going to have great effect on the economy if the country. This means that the tourism industry will register no tourists since even movements within are restricted.
In China where the virus started, the infected number on a daily has decreased while its increasing else where especially in Europe specifically Italy.
