The city hotel known as ‘Duomo hotel and apartments’ have decided to take run with their concerns to the law saying their customers are running away to other hotels in quiet places since they can’t bear the noise coming out of this particular church.
Jubilee Christian life church of pastor John Ssali Lulenti located in Mbuya a known Kampala suburb is the one facing noise pollution charges and the case is in the civil division of the high court in Kampala.
Several cases of suits filed against churches are rampant in Uganda since everywhere you go there’s a church and it should also be remembered that our very own president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni complained of a certain church in Nakasero next to the State House that keeps him awake most of the nights because of the loud noise that comes out of it.
Now pastor John Ssali is facing charges both from Kampala capital city authority and Nakawa division for paying a deaf ear to their several calls asking him to stop the noise.
This Matter might bring about tensions since born again Christians have a huge following and the outcry might be more louder.
Well the law in Uganda states that noise pollution is a criminal offence.
Dates for hearing this are yet to be scheduled but we shall keep you posted.
