Social media has been left divided after n employee was reported to have returned a huge sum of money belonging to a client. According to a tweet from popular Twitter user Mathias Ssemanda, a lady by the name of Joan Nansubuga, 26 years old and a housekeeper at Brovad Sands Lodge in Kalangala District found $10,000 belonging to a client.
Instead of pocketing it, Nansubuga traced down the owner and returned it.
“26-year-old Joan Nansubuga, a housekeeper at Brovad Sands Lodge, Kalangala District. Found US$ 10,000 left behind by a client in the room and she returned the money.”

This saw divided opinions from different Twitter users who came across the post. $10,000 is the equivalent of Ugx 36,000,000 (thirty six million shillings) if computed at the rate 3600UGx for 1USD.
Some people could not believe that she managed to return such a life-changing amount of money. However, others commended her for her honesty and truthfulness.
“Some People are born to die poor,” a disappointed user said.
“Me asking myself why God can’t give me such opportunity,” another user said wishing it was them that landed onto the money.
“Wife material! God bless this first Muganda woman to refund found money,” another hilariously said implying that Baganda don’t refund lost money.
“I know the majority are going to blame her for taking it back but, she was raised in the best manner as a person and she deserves better,” another said.
In another tweet, however, they only rewarded the lady with US$26 or UGx100,000. This to many is very disappointing. The hotel manager was instead given a million shillings.
Strange update about this story; Nansubuga was rewarded with UGX 100K (USD 28) and her boss the hotel manager was rewarded with UGX 1 million (USD 276) 😭😞 https://t.co/h2t7UaHN4e
