Uncle Osoto made good money from his numerous agricultural adventures, in fact, he trained my siblings from his farm ever since we lost our dad, but I had always wanted to go to school so the idea of going to the farm scared me.
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me so I could share the good news with mom, She wasn’t in the sitting room so I guessed she was going to be in the kitchen, thankfully she was there and when I told her about my results she gave me a wonderful hug and immediately asked me to pound emaido, I was happy and confused at the same time. “My mom had character”.
The next thing to prepare for was the university entry test and I read like a man whose life depended solely on it. studying law was my passion. My mother was impressed by my passion and did not send me on too many errands much to my delight.
The entry exam day.
The day of the entry exam finally arrived and my brain was buzzing. I was so confident I would squash it, or so I thought. Finally, I was going to fulfil my childhood dreams of studying law so I walked into the hall with smiles and I didn’t greet anybody as I didn’t want to forget about what I read.
We were positioned in the hall and I sat next to the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I began sweating too much before the question paper came even though it was raining. Her beauty was so natural it made her look like a fresh upcoming model. She radiated so much aura that my heart rate moved faster than normal. I even forgot that studying law needed a lot of hard work.
Then the question sheets came and I couldn’t concentrate. The worst happened when she turned and spoke to me in a voice reminiscent of a nightingale. “Please can you help me out, I’m a little bit under the weather.”
She shifted her answer booklet and question paper to me. And like a man whose destiny had been sealed in a bottle, flowing in the shores of Awoja, I collected it and started writing for her as she pretended to write on mine.
I was so happy, at least, after the test, both of us were going to hook up. Then someone patted me on the shoulder “Young man stand up. Is your name Alupakasaidi Epetu?
I tried to talk but I was bundled out of the hall by the security guys. The angry invigilator handed the question paper and answer booklet back to Asiimwe Sandra who gave me a look that made me feel worthless.
Bottom line, I’m typing this from the cassava garden on top of a tree, it’s the only place I have a network in my village.
My village people are powerful, I’m actually teaching them farming laws. That’s if at all anything of that sort really exists, for the cassava here, so all hope is not lost.
Hahahahah…..
NB: Guys when you go to Kampala either to study or to do business, stay focused and do what took you there, otherwise there are too many cute dangerous ladies (Slay queens) waiting to destroy your destiny at any given moment.
Avoid trouble and you will live a long and fulfilled life. Be a fool and you will die poor, struggling and dissatisfied.
Be aware of Slay Queens, it’s for your own good.
